Friends of the Lower Calaveras River (FLCR) held their 3rd Steering Committee meeting last week at the new Student Center at UOP. Together, they completed a Ranking Ladder Activity to prioritize their goals. Afterwards, they divided into four sub-committees to work on the following short-term objectives:

  1. To improve youth education about the river by involving them in monitoring and other extra-curricular activities.
  2. To keep FLCR members engaged by conducting a 1:1 listening campaign.
  3. To conduct a survey to inventory community resources and develop an FLCR database.
  4. Tp produce media that will educate and stimulate interest in the greater public (brochures, articles, etc.)

Sub-committee will meet independently over the next month to work on their task lists, and will re-convene in early January to check-in and to formulate next steps.

Thanks to all for their hard work!
